Our mission is to conserve, restore, and honor lands to ensure the future of coho salmon ecosystems.
C-SALT envisions a place of resilient biodiversity, protected by a community whose actions support the recovery of native species for the benefit of all.
What We Do
Founded in 2019, Coho Salmon Land Trust (C-SALT) works with landowners and the community to protect its watershed resources, lands, wildlife and biodiversity in the Lagunitas Creek and Tomales Bay Watersheds throughout Marin County.
We permanently protect land through fee title acquisitions and conservation easements – strategically prioritizing activities that benefit critically endangered coho salmon and the people and other wildlife that comprise their ecosystem.
C-SALT was established to:
- Acquire and steward property to permanently preserve land for the protection of coho salmon, ecological restoration and ecological conservation;
- Promote and provide environmental education to the public regarding sustainable watershed and salmon protection practices; and
- Acquire and steward property to combat a lack of affordable housing in the San Francisco Bay Area, promote conservation and environmental job skills and worker training, and to improve the economic, educational, cultural, environmental and social condition of residents in Marin County.
